Sixth Annual NEROC Symposium in Radio Science (2022)
This year’s Sixth Annual NEROC Symposium will feature a welcoming, participatory “fireside chat” format that includes four single-themed, panel discussions. The symposium will be held entirely remotely.
Each Fireside Chat will include one or two moderator, four to five panelists, and time for discussion with the audience. The moderators will facilitate the conversation and present the goals of the session. Panelists will make brief remarks, with community discussion encouraged. The Fireside Chats are intended to focus on ways the NEROC community can foster collaboration and develop
mutually beneficial program.
The Fireside Chats all provide an opportunity for the panelists and audience to help craft action items together for the NEROC community. At the end of the symposium, each moderator will present the action items and a summary of the discussion to be forwarded to the group.
Fireside Chat topics for 2022:
- Polar science
- Ion-neutral coupling
- Space
- Education in radio astronomy and radio science
Student posters and presentations are welcome
All students of NEROC institutions may present. The subject matter should involve radio science or one of the four Fireside Chat themes.
Posters and presentations are both solicited. Poster presenters must submit (1) a 3-minute recorded video plus (2) a PDF poster or 3 slides. Presentations will be made as a 10-minute video plus 7 slides. Student posters and presentations will be distributed at the beginning of the conference, and the lightning talks and presentations will be broadcast at the student sessions, followed by a Q&A opportunity. To present, register at: https://www-haystack-mit-edu.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/neroc-register
A virtual student poster session will also be held. If you would like to share a poster or presentation, please see the registration form. A limited number of slots is available. A NEROC award for best poster and best presentation will be made.
